I have been practicing as a psychotherapist in the state of Texas for almost 10 years. My mutual goal in Marriage & Family Therapy (MFT) is to be the most effective therapist possible.  In order to achieve this, it is imperative to create a safe environment that is collaborative and encourages problem-solving and decisive thinking skills. I believe in providing a welcoming environment; one that accommodates a variety of learning styles while encouraging everyone to express themselves and respect the opinions of others.  It is my belief that this style of therapy and relationship development enriches personal experiences and knowledge. As a practicing Marriage & Family Therapist, utilizing skills drawn upon in my private practice, I bring a rich dynamic that allows individuals to see how both educational content and personal style, along with experiential learning, are collaborative. Therapy is about the relationship between the client and the therapist.

By promoting independent thinking, individuals will take responsibility for their lives and apply it to real-life situations. Therefore, by integrating knowledge-base into practice I use a directive approach assisting to learn skills and demonstrate outcomes. Creating a safe environment for every person encourages open dialogue.

In my years of counseling experience, I utilize an integrated approach to counseling, focusing on narrative and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Another component to integrative therapy is teaching clients to accept things that cannot be changed.  In addition to therapy styles, I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) as a technique for trauma therapy.
