Personal

I am a licensed clinical social worker, therapist, teacher and writer. I completed studies at UTA Graduate School of Social Work and attended graduate schools at TWU (Family Studies and Sociology) and Oxford Graduate School in Dayton, Tennessee. I have taught at 7 colleges and universities in the US, including most recently UTA Graduate School of Social Work, and Tarleton State University Department of Social Work in Stephenville. I have spoken at social work conferences over the years and was invited and participated in a Round Table at Oxford University, Oxford, England. In 2008, my paper was a review of the crisis in the life of Deitrich Bonhoeffer. I hope to perhaps speak on the topic of my second book, In the Face of Evil: how to minister to the broken in crisis. I have published articles in my field of social work practice, and have one published book, The Healing Power of Home: 7 virtues you need when you hurt. I am in private practice in Keller, Texas with other Christian therapists after spending more than 30 years working in the field as a hospice social worker, program director of inpatient psychiatric programs, teaching. I am a widow of three years, have three grown children and four wonderful grandchildren. I love to sing and help lead worship and feel it keeps me alive!
