Personal

Dianna has been married to her husband, Louis, for 43 years. They are  parents of two amazing children, Daniel and Michelle, an awesome daughter-in-law, Natalie, and a wonderful son-in-law, Daniel Blane.  Dianna’s greatest joy is spending time with her five grandchildren,  Kason, Max, Zoe, Thane and Larkin. Dianna and her husband enjoy bicycling, camping, hiking, and boating. Dianna and her husband are members of Crossroads Church, Decatur.  Dianna served 34 years in public education as a teacher, educational consultant, parenting education  facilitator and school counselor. Her counseling experience includes work with a nonprofit agency that serves at-risk youth and their families, outpatient mental health services in a hospital setting and  schools K-12.

Dianna works with adults, and has a particular interest in working in the  area of women’s issues to ensure health and wellness at each stage of  the human lifecycle. 

Dianna’s approach is holistic: body, mind, soul, and spirit. Guided by her belief in Christ, her counseling comes from a faith-based perspective. She believes each client has the capacity to change and experience the life God intended. Dianna believes a trusting relationship between client and therapist can be a powerful tool for change. She places a strong emphasis on increasing awareness in the areas of personal development, wellness, healthy communication,  acceptance and healing in an emotionally safe environment. Working from each client’s strengths, she enjoys walking along side clients as they work to improve relationships, restore balance, and explore solutions  when experiencing life’s challenges. Dianna uses an individual approach  and tailors sessions to meet each client’s unique needs.

Professional Disclosure Statement

I am currently licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor with the State of Texas. I work with a variety of populations including, but not limited to adolescents, adults, and families.  

I believe in creating an emotionally safe environment where adolescents, individuals, couples, and families can explore current issues and concerns in order to identify positive solutions for life’s stressors. My practice includes an emphasis on gaining personal understanding, as well as, new insight and awareness in a manner that affect the body, mind, soul, and spirit. I believe a trusting relationship between client and therapist can be a powerful tool for growth. Clients are encouraged to set therapeutic goals that bring about positive change in a manner that restores balance and encourages the application of healthy coping skills. My therapeutic approach is one of integrating a variety of counseling techniques tailored to meet each client’s unique needs. Clients are encouraged to focus on and work from areas of strength in order to improve everyday functioning as well as create hope for tomorrow.

Anxiety, Depression, Stress Management

All of our therapists are trained and equipped to help you through issues related to anxiety, depression, and stress using a variety of techniques and tools designed specifically for you.

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)

This is a therapeutic technique that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences (trauma).

Neurofeedback, QEEG, & other Alternative Therapies

We are happy to offer testing and therapeutic services using a variety of holistic approaches. These approaches can be used as either supplemental services to traditional therapy or sometimes in place of them.

Play Therapy & Art Therapy

Both Play Therapy and Art Therapy can be used to help clients interpret, express, and resolve their emotions and thoughts. Although Play Therapy is often used for children, Art Therapy can be used with a wide age range.
