Approach to Therapy:

“People should live happier, healthier lives. That is what all well-adjusted people want. My focus is on helping people achieve these and other goals. Everyone at one time or another goes through tough times. Some people go through them on their own, but sometimes it takes a professional, unbiased perspective to help people see clearly. People are the result of both nature (inherited traits) and nurture (environment) which form lenses through which we perceive the world. Through life experience, lenses can become scratched or cloudy. Let’s make them clear again, together!

I work with a full spectrum of patients, dealing with anxiety, depression, and many other issues. My experience setting up a treatment facility from the ground floor (creating the clinical treatment, 183 groups, individual treatment plans, and aftercare plans) then running it has proven an invaluable experience for my patients.

In addition to my education, fourteen years of experience and licensure, I bring to your team an additional Master’s in Communications, training as a Marriage and Family therapist, as a play therapist, and have been the Clinical Director of two different treatment centers. You bring a willingness to work on issues in your life that are causing you to not realize your full potential for happiness. Together, we can make a great team!”

With young patients (aged 5-10, depending upon level of emotional maturity), I use both directive and non-directive play therapy. This allows children to communicate through their play the way adults do verbally. I am a trained Play Therapist and am currently applying for the Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential.

Approach to Treatment:

I believe in a team approach to treatment. By this, I mean that if you haven’t already built a mental healthcare team, we will build one together. Examples of professional who might be on your mental healthcare team other than myself and you are: your primary care physician, psychiatrists, and/ /or psychologists. The inclusion of these professionals is completely up to you. We may be able to successfully complete treatment without them, or we may need to call on them for their expertise and they then become part of your mental healthcare team.
