Hello, my name is Laura and I have been working with children and adolescents since 2008 where I began my career as a youth care counselor mentoring youth and helping them to form healthy bonds with staff and peers and to enrich their lives while in the foster care system. I continued building upon my education and attended Texas Wesleyan University graduate school for my professional counseling degree. I am an LPC Intern and EMDRIA approved basic trained EMDR therapist. I have been working as a mental health professional providing therapy such as CBT and EMDR with a focus on substance abuse, depression, bi-polar disorder and anxiety disorders to clients of all ages, backgrounds and lifestyles.
I joined the Logos Counseling family in July 2020 and am looking forward to serving my community by providing caring and person- centered therapy while affirming all clients with a positive attitude.
When not working I love spending time with my three Dachshunds and Weimaraner and baking healthy dog treats. I also raise chickens and enjoy spending time outdoors when it is not too hot. I believe gardening, spending time with animals and in nature can be healing and therapeutic in itself. It is my personal form of relaxation and therapy. This is a lot of information about me, but what I am really interested in is getting to know about my clients and hearing about you!
