Marla is a native Texan, originally from Seguin but having also lived in Pearsall, Corpus Christi, Abilene, College Station and Fort Worth. Marla met Marvin (native Kansan) when both worked for TxDOT in Fort Worth, and they will have been married 32 years this May. Marvin’s work in the Ag industry has taken them from Texas to the Midwest and Heartland, returning home to Texas last summer (2019) after 23 years.
Parents to an only, Zachary (20yo), Marla and Marvin were active Adult Leaders throughout Zach’s participation in scouting until he earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 2018. They also volunteered to support various organizations including show choir, trap club and church. Empty nesters for only a year while Zach attended the University of Kansas (computer science engineering), Zach chose to move to Texas when his parents left Nebraska, and is currently attending TCC until residency requirements for in-state tuition are fulfilled in May 2020.
Marla enjoys spending time with family and friends, knitting, eating TexMex and trying new BBQ joints, soaking up that Texas heat and watching the Aggies and Cowboys football games. The Hodgson’s have recently found a new church home in Alliance UMC and are excited to become part of a growing church community.
