Personal

Mello-Dee has been a resident of Wise County since 2000, after growing up in Grapevine. She graduated from high school there and decided to go to work at a car dealership in the area. After a number of years and a number of different positions, she decided to move to North Dallas and work one on one with a family that had multiple children with disabilities. While it was tough work, she enjoyed seeing the children make progress unlike they had previously, until the family made the decision to move out of state. It was then that Mello-Dee went back into the transportation industry and worked in aerospace for several years. Eventually, Mello-Dee decided to listen to God and follow His direction for her life. She went back to school to get a degree in Music with a minor in Vocal Performance. She has considered Music Therapy, but cannot play guitar, so that may be something for the future. Mello-Dee sings with the praise team at her church.

Mello-Dee has been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; however, she would consider her style to be eclectic as she continues to grow and learn.

Professional Disclosure Statement

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor.  While I am fairly new in the mental health field, I have worked with children who have experienced sexual abuse and trauma.  I have also worked as the Education Director at a pregnancy center.  These experiences have allowed me to gain knowledge and insight into working with women, children and families who have experienced a wide range of traumas.

I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; however, I would consider my style to be eclectic as I continues to grow my skills and learn new techniques.
